I've suggested before that the PM loves to invoke the frisson of democratic debate precisely when he intends to steamroller something through parliament, ignore dissent, caricature opposing views and announce immediate success. Via Andrew Bartlett, I find this:Complaining about globalization is as pointless as trying to turn back the tide. There are, I notice, no such debates in China.
Did you read that correctly? Resistance is futile, and we need to eliminate debate like China.
