Christopher Hitchens' Bad Language. posted by Richard Seymour
Speaking of bad language, it takes real cojones to advertise one's coprolalia to the whole world. However, this is Christopher Hitchens speaking on Laura Ingraham's right-wing radio show yesterday:"If you think that the intifada in France is about housing, go and try covering the story wearing a yarmulka." [via]
That's what I'm tempted to call a "tumbril remark". Well, if he couldn't help saying it, he might at least have had the decency to deny it when asked, but didn't. But no, coprolalia is not the right description. Racism is a possibility, as is calumny, ignorance, idle-minded drivel, pompous Blimpishness, idiocy without measure, implausible oafishness, painfully inept self-satire, witless drollery, sybaritic silliness, dextral dickheadery etc. And more's the pity - Daniel Pipes, if he didn't have enough stiff competition before from idiots like Horowitz and Coulter, now has to defend his turf from this sullen bar-lfy.
